2021 Carter Caves Half marathon recap

First off let’s get to the thank you's:

• Volunteers - Summer Wofford, Austyn Erickson, Wendy Breeze, Doug and Laurette Durick, Shanae Gibbs, Terri Ernst, Anthony Caldwell, Tracy Caldwell, Andrew Shilakhau and family.  All of you played such a big part in making this day happen and realize none of this could happen without you all!!

• KY State Parks - Shout out to Chris, Paul, Coy, Matt and all the other amazing park staff and rangers at Carter Caves. Absolutely love working with this entire staff and can’t say enough good things about them.

• Family - Thank you to my entire family who supports me in this wild passion of race directing trail runs. My wife (Riah) and daughter (Eva) hold down the fort. Love you girls so much!

  RACE DAY RECAP

  What a beautiful weekend at Carter Caves! We are so grateful for the amount of folks that continue to show interest in participating at our events. We learn something new every year and hope we will continue to improve in many areas.

  This course is absolutely stunning and we will do our best to keep this a very small, intimate, and grassroots styled event for as long as we can. We were very fortunate to have good weather and get everyone back to home base safely on race day this year.

  This type of event takes a whole community of park staff, rangers, EMT, volunteers, participants. Thank you to all the wonderful locals we have met since we started planning for this event years ago and we look forward to doing it again with a lot of you!
