2022 Carter Caves Half marathon recap

  • RACE DAY RECAP

Started off with a cold rainy morning but by 9am I believe the conditions were pretty much as good as you could have asked for. The wildflowers that were out this year are completely different than they have been in years past. Everyone finished this year which to me is a success. Carter Caves is such an amazing state park and will always have such a special place in my heart.

  • CONCLUSION

A lot has happened in our personal lives these past couple of years. With that being said, at this time EJ Adventures is going to take a hiatus from events for now.

Thank you to everyone who has supported this event as a volunteer, participant, or as a trail steward since it’s inception. I would especially like to thank Coy Ainsley, Paul Tierney, Doug and Laurette Durick, Wendy Burge, Jeff England, Matt Moore, Erin Lambirth, Chris Perry, and all the Park Rangers.

Not quite sure what the future of the Moonbow Ultra or Carter Caves Half Marathon will be. What I do know is that we are expecting to have our first son later this fall. And I am beyond excited for this new experience in life.

Honored to have helped establish two wonderful trail running events in the state of Kentucky. Very grateful to have people travel from all over the region to have participated with us. Thank you for supporting us and our Kentucky State Parks. We hope to see you out on the trails soon!
